Carol Jean White

Music has been always been in my life. From singing in church, my family would sing together at weddings and funerals. My daddy, would listen to the Grand Ole Opry in his basement wood workshop most every Saturday night.

I was always so shy about my singing, I'd hide myself away in my bedroom and sing along with many of the great female vocalists.

My major influence was Linda Ronstadt. I never pursued singing as a career cause "that's something that always happens for someone else."

My brother, Clay & my husband, David, prompted me to have confidence to let folks hear me in public. I love to sing along with the radio in the car, and that gives me great joy.

These days, my daughter, Aubrey & I love to sing "Sugarland' songs together. I hope my songs will touch your hearts and bring more happiness into our world.

Sincerely,
Carol Jean White

Every song - good songs, that is - has a story behind it. These songs, written by tommie rose and performed by his wife Carol for demos, have such stories.

Downside of Love Circle - co-written with David Ponder, Downside of Love Circle is a tribute to a famous hill for lovers in the middle of Nashville, Tennessee, with the theme of reflection on lost love.

Guardian Angel of the Highway - the story of a woman who receives a psychic message urging her to suddenly return home to her ailing father. Caught in a blinding snowstorm, she feels lost and hopeless until a guardian angel appears in the form of a long-haul trucker to lead her safely to her destination. Guitar work on this song was all done by tommie.

Lord, Your Will Not Mine

Lord, Your Will Not Mine - written by tommie following quadruple heart bypass surgery. The experience that almost anyone brings to their life is a deeper self-knowledge as they come face-to-face with their own mortality, and discover the richness around them in the simple things of life they've come to ignore in years before - a bird's morning chirp as the sun rises over the trees, a child's spontaneous laughter. This song is tommie's promise to be filled with a humble gratitude and appreciation after being a second chance at life.

Fantasy

Dark-Fired Autumn Sky - A love song inspired by the Robertson County tobacco growers who "fire" their crops in barns with a slow smoking sawdust that turns the leaves a dark chocolate color. In the fall, as the leaves change color, the smoke fills the air, adding a rich, unique flavor to the atmosphere.

Go To The Light - written by tommie rose in Phoenix, who at the time was sleeping on the living room floor at a friend's home. In the midst of people, in a strange world, one feels the aloneness of their own individuality ... and it it at such times that they realize they're not truly alone, but are in truth One with the Creator. This is the first song Carol recorded, in the 90's.

Love Worth Waiting For - written with co-writer Jim Sanders, this song expresses every girl's hope to meet her "knight in shining armor" even though it may seem to take forever.

Influences Linda Ronstadt, Barbara Streisand, Karen Carpenter,Trisha Yearwood, Jennifer Nettles, Martina McBride

In the Realm of the Angels

Here are several music videos that pertain to angels and the bond that connects humankind to the Creator. There are several using scenes from the classic movie "City of the Angels", and some are meditation videos. Some scenes from these videos are used, as well as still pictures, in the creation of the music video for "Lord, Your Will Note Mine" and ""Go To The Light."

Move your mouse over the bottom of the video player (after you start the first movie) and you'll see the thumbnails of the videos; click on one to play it.

A note from a friend

I was so happy when David created Carol's MySpace page (opens in a new window). I've worked with David for quite some time now and I always urged him to promote Carol's vocals more through tranzport music ... and it's really good that he has.

"David," I'd say, "you don't need to look very far for a really promising artist for your publishing company. You're married to her!"

Carol is still shy about her singing, as fantastic as she is. Maybe I shouldn't tell this, but when she records, she doesn't like to be aware of the people in the studio, so she faces the opposite direction so she can't see anyone looking at her. Carol, you have absolutely nothing to be embarrassed at!

I can't wait to do her first music video, her first album and her first web site.
